Bill was a key supporter of the effort to eliminate the "Sophomore Shuffle" and it couldn't have been accomplished without his support. I have seen first-hand his work to protect and celebrate The Citadel's history and traditions and to ensure we stay the MILITARY College of South Carolina.
The Corps of Cadets must remain the heart of The Citadel.
I have first hand observation of Bill in BOV meetings while being President of TCBF. When Bill speaks there is a considerable amount of thought that goes into it. When he advocates for a position he presents it respectfully, and is not overzealous. He is a good listener, and respectful of other points of view. He recently sent a child through our institution. He knows the pain of writing those checks. He is worthy of another term on the BOV to work for the good of The Citadel.
Bill has done an outstanding job as a member of The Citadel Board of Visitors and has earned another term. His distinguished military service, including combat service, and civilian career as an attorney embodies The Citadel concept of the “Citizen Soldier.” Bill is very engaged with all alumni and responsive to their opinions and concerns. He is committed to retaining and strengthening Citadel traditions and values. We need Bill for another term on the Board of Visitors.
Bill has lived up to every commitment he has made. We must re-elect him to continue the work in protecting the heritage, traditions, and branding The Citadel as the top Senior military college in the nation.
Bill has my complete support. Having served 30 years as a field artilleryman including a combat tour in Vietnam, I know that Bill has the courage and character to stand up for the values of our beloved alma mater.
Bill - thank you for your service on The Citadel BOV this past 5 years. I proudly support your reelection. All - Bill Connor has earned our support. #VoteBillConnor!!!
Bill has all the qualities a needed for the job, Christian Citadel values
Bill embodies the leadership, integrity, and commitment to service that define The Citadel’s mission. His distinguished military background, combined with his dedication to developing principled leaders, makes him exceptionally well-suited to help guide the institution’s future. Bill understands the values that shape cadets into leaders of character, and he will bring both vision and accountability to the Board.
I wholeheartedly endorse Bill Connor for reelection to the Citadel's Board of Visitors. As a classmate, I've seen firsthand what he brings — sharp, principled, and deeply committed to the institution's mission. Serving on the BOV demands significant time, travel, and sacrifice away from family and business. Bill takes that responsibility seriously. The Board needs voices of reason, and Bill is exactly that.
Bill and my classmates were raised up at The Citadel in 1986. It was a time when the “Soviet Bear” ran rampant, & Gen Grimsley & his Staff trained us HARD to prepare us to utilize the NEW instruments of WAR, which Reagan had acquired. It’s why the Class of 1990 had the 2nd highest attrition rate in the history of The Citadel. As America celebrates its 250th, we need “Peace Through Strength Leaders.” EXPERTS like Bill - in Leadership, Warfare, History, & Ethics- will ensure our BEST future
Good luck, Colonel
